Curtis King Band at JakJazz

Curtis King performed at Fiestea Garden Stage, a place covered by shady leaves of big trees. At the side of the stage we could find easily delicious food and drinks, such as the famnous traditional baked bread with choices of nice stuffs inside and energy drinks to entertain our empty stomach and dry throat.

It shouldn't be a surprise that I haven't heard Curtis King name before. Hence, it was also for my education purposes that I was there trying to find a space between people's head to take his photos.

Curtis King was originally from Cleveland Ohio, home of Rock'n'Roll and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It was understandable that The Curtis King Band is funky, bluesy, with rock'n'roll flavor, and also incorporated good music from the East. The Curtis King Band is currently, however, based out of Ho Chi Minh City.

One of the songs that The Curtis King Band played that night was the famous rock'n'roll song of Jail House Rock. This was definitely one of the best performers in the JakJazz 2007 that I saw.

Curtis collaborated with a top class young saxophonist from Singapore and also a woman guest star who played chinese tradional instrument of harp. It was a fantastic collaboration of fine music.
