Widget on My Template 2.0

There are still a few other stuffs on my template that I want to share. As you might see that there were few changes I’ve made in the last few days.
The first one is hack that enables you to have "Read more...." feature on your posts, then Google Adsense hack, next is Label Cloud that looks so cool, Technorati’s and Feedburner’s banner, Recent Posts widget and finally Random Rotating Banner hack!

Again those things are one of the benefits of visiting fellow bloggers, and results of observe-imitate-practice-liberate sequential learning process that I wrote in Observation to Innovation.

It's highly recommended to read all the comments in the post before installing the hacks or widget, as it can save a lot of time by learning from others who have installed it. Another platinum rule is to always back up your template before making any changes!

I learnt how to apply “Read more…..” from Agus Hery. I still love it, even though there are other choices, such as the hack from Ramani or Hans
By having “Read more…..” hack, it enables me to display more posts on the main page to provide options for readers to choose from.

Next, what triggered me to put Google Adsense was a visit to a "celebrity's blog". I thought that it was bung Wimar’s site, but when I checked it today, there wasn’t any Adsense there. So, I’m not quite sure whose blog that inspired me to give Adsense a try.

There are two hacks that you can choose, one of them is from Loui$$. Before saving the template, you need to clik here for an update.
The other one is from Vivek. You can use both actually without any modification, and I loved it for sometime. Then I changed it based on Vivek recommendation (see Vivek’s reply to my question).

There is another way for putting the Adsense from Luoi$$ here, which I haven't given a try.

My hypothesis is that, until your readers really value your posts and get benefit out of them, there’ll be little chances that they will click the ads, as some people only click the ads as a token of appreciation of the blog owner's works. People may also click Adsense ads when they are relevant to the visitors and attracts people to give a visit, which unfortunately a bit rare.

I got Label Cloud from phydeaux3. You just need to do some experiments with color and sizes to satisfy your taste. Come back later as I will share with you my settings.

Now is Technorati. You just need to visit Technorati website to sign-up and get your banner. The game is that the more blogs that links to you, the higher your rank at Technorati, and the more valuable your blog will be. Other than to put a permanent link on your side bar, you can also help fellow bloggers by mentioning and put links to their blogs in your posts, such as what I got from Jakartass and Indorave.

I put Feedburner as it gives readers a good option to save their times and some bytes of Speedy charges by subscribing to the feed. Instead of visiting the blog, readers can just to refresh the feed to know whether there are new posts or not. If you are using IE 7, it would be on your upper left icon, below the menu bar.

I haven’t really interested in putting Recent Posts on my template, until recently, when I found that it might save time for the readers, especially after they finished giving comments. The widget was made by Hans.

I learnt about Random Rotating Banner from bung Joni, and I decided to give it a try. The hack was made by Freeyasoul. I created the banner from my photo collections and put it on Flickr here. The size of the banners are 890 x 140. I made also banners with size of 938 x 148. Feel free to use it.

What you need to do is to click the banner that you want. Above the banner, click “all sizes” to make a choice, save it in your hard drive, then upload them to your flickr. When you click "all sizes" within your flickr, it will give you the link.

Updated on February 26:
I decided to use Super-peek-boo-posts hack from Hans, an improvement of Ramani's hack, following Maiden's suggestion. I realized that not everybody uses high speed internet connection. A sincere appreciation to Agus Hery for wonderful experience with the hack that has made the Project looked cool for quite sometime.
